  “Be Steadfast, Immovable”

  11 At times, we might reason that the direction Jehovah gives us is not sufficient. We might even be tempted to “go beyond the things that are written.” (1 Cor. 4:6) The religious leaders in Jesus’ day were guilty of this sin. By adding man-made rules to the Law, they imposed a heavy burden on the common people. (Matt. 23:4) Jehovah gives us clear direction through his Word and through his organization. We have no reason to add to the instruction he provides. (Prov. 3:5-7) Therefore, we do not go beyond what is written in the Bible or make rules for fellow believers about personal matters.

  
  

  Paragraph 11 is a joke. The whole Watchtower Society religion is nothing but a man-made rule religion. ''No beards'' are just one of many man-made rules that are placed on brothers. Banning facial hair ( you can grow a small mustache) is an easy way to separate the compliant from the non-compliant. It's the Societies way to control the lives of the common people.

  Watchtower publications never show a brother with a beard. How many beards do you see at this Watchtower study?

  The last Circuit Assembly I attended was 13 years ago. I went home all riled up after listening to a dramatization on ''higher education.''
  

  There were 2 sisters who got up and gave a dramatization about the ''evils'' about going to college. I will paraphrase as best as I can.

  High School Counselor: ''Have a seat Karen! I will show you all the College applications I have for you.''

  Sister: ''Thank you for all the work you have done.''

  Counselor: '' I have an application from Harvard, one from Michigan University, and a couple from the East Coast.''

  Sister: '' I have done a lot of thinking and decided not to go to any College."

  Counselor: ''Karen, you have a 4.0 grade average and scored very high on the A.C.T. and you would have no problem getting into any of these schools."

  Sister: '' As you know, I'm a Jehovah's Witness and we believe that we are near the ''end times.'' I decided that I will go into the preaching work part time and maybe go to a 2 year school."

  Counselor: ''You will probably get into these schools at almost no cost because of your 4.0 average and high A.C.T. scores and have a good career the rest of your life. These are great schools and will prepare you to land a good job.''

  Sister: ''This world is passing by and may not be here any longer. I decided to enter the ministry work and Jehovah God will provide for me in the future."

  Everyone applauded except me. That was really sad to see!

  Jesus said:
  "Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." - Matthew 6:1

  These robotic Elders are more concerned about the Shepherd book than any scripture taught by Jesus. The whole family is judged by sinful men. The Society is bothered by the daughters getting a higher education than the congregation. Not one scripture is sighted about higher education. Manmade rules by a manmade religion!

  he makes the comparison between the ''slave class ( who disappointed others when the end didn't come ) to a barking watchdog ( who in his enthusiasm barks at nothing in the middle of the night and wakes up the owner).

  The only significance that was ever implied was that it could mark the year when Jehovah would finally bring about the end of the current system of things and usher in the new world under divine governance.

Because after his creation Adam lived some time during the “sixth day,” which unknown amount of time would need to be subtracted from Adam’s 930 years, to determine when the sixth seven-thousand-year period or “day” ended, and how long Adam lived into the “seventh day.” And yet the end of that sixth creative “day” could end within the same Gregorian calendar year of Adam’s creation. It may involve only a difference of weeks or months, not years.

  Rattigan350 There are no false dates. False expectations, but not false dates.

  Mr. Jackson didn't name 1975, but he walked around it: '' But at times, we look back over 100 years, and there were times they got excited about a certain year or time, and the end didn't come at that time.''

  Maybe you didn't live through the 1975 debacle like I did, where the preaching work was intensified and many brothers sold their homes and businesses.

  The Governing Body members are nothing but a bunch of weasels. Here is a talk by Jeffrey Jackson on how the Governing Body ''The Slave Class'' has remained spiritually awake over 100 years and alerted its members.

  He looks back on the ''Faithful and Discreet Slaves'' false dates over the 100 years: '' But at times, we look back over 100 years, and there were times they got excited about a certain year or time, and the end didn't come at that time.''

  He makes the comparison between the ''Slave Class ( who disappointed others when the end didn't come ) to a barking watchdog ( who in his enthusiasm barks at nothing in the middle of the night and wakes up the owner). Mr. Jackson throws in a little comedy that is met with laughter. "DO YOU SHOOT THE DOG?"

  I suspect WTower never planned for this to get out, they thought it would be secret.
  in the past it was easier to keep secrets and the Borg worked like that, everything confidential and secrecy was successful
  these days the internet changed everything and now what used to be easy to keep confidential is very difficult or even impossible
  now that all this is getting out there the Borg may decide to move him again to another safe house

  I'm happy that the internet has finally exposed the corrupt Jehovah's Witness Society.

  I know that anyone can get records at their local County Office on divorces, marriages, home owner deeds/addresses, bankruptcies and lawsuits. I'm not happy that someone's home address is readily available and thrown around on the internet. Mr. Morris and his wife have the right to privacy and the enjoyment of their home. No one needs people driving around and taking photos and videos of Mr. Morris walking on his property or getting in his car. That to me is stalking!

  i recall the wt deciding no more camping after this due to "immorality" having taken place.. https://youtu.be/lhcl-13dyne.

  Just shows to me that people living six decades ago were a much hardier stock than the wimps today.

  Here is my wimp story:

  Our congregation was assigned Milwaukee County Stadium for our 1975 four day summer convention. Our congregation was 90 miles away from Milwaukee, located on the north side of Chicago.

  Some congregation members stayed at Milwaukee hotels for the four day convention. Since my parents and some congregation members were either too cheap/ or didn't have the means to pay for hotels and meals, they decided to charter a bus to Milwaukee for the four days. The chartered bus picked us up at 7.a.m. every morning at our Chicago Kingdom Hall. It was a 2 hour drive to Milwaukee. The starting time for the 4 day Assembly was at 9:45 a.m. .

  Since the bus arrived around 9 a.m. each morning in Milwaukee, all seats that were shaded/partly shaded or had a cover from the blazing sun in the middle of July were all taken. We had no choice but to sit on the outfield seats ( which were in full sun, all day long). Imagine sitting in the blazing sun all day long with a jacket/ tie or mothers having to take care of small children in the oppressive heat. Talk about sunstroke!

  The convention meetings ended around 5 p.m. We would get back on the chartered bus around 6 p.m. and drove back to Chicago for another 2 hour drive. It would be around 8:30 p.m. each night that we would arrive back home. We ate dinner around 8:30 p.m., went to bed, and did the same routine for the next 3 days.

  It's sad how the Watchtower Society has treated their faithful members since it's founding in the late 1880's!

  Here we have the 1963 Twickeham Assembly, where 30 thousand members suffer 8 full days of hot sun, lunch served military style, sleeping in tents, bathing, cleaning and bathroom breaks ( who knows where ), mothers contending with nursing, feeding and changing little babies, no air-conditioning, long wait times to enter and leave the grounds...

  What have we ( all who have slaved for the Society) gotten in return? Lies, pedophile lawsuits, downsizing and selling of Kingdom Halls and broken promises!
